Overview

Nestled in the heart of Madrid’s Centro district, Restaurante El Ventorrillo offers a charming blend of traditional Spanish cuisine and panoramic city views. Located on C. de Bailen, this spot is perfect for locals and tourists alike who seek an authentic tapas experience while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the capital.

The menu highlights classic Spanish staples such as Pollo Al Ajillo, Tortilla de Patatas, and the standout Jamón Ibérico de Bellota. These dishes celebrate simple yet robust flavors, representing the essence of traditional Spanish cooking. Special mentions go to the Las Mejores Croquetas de Jamón and the iconic Bocadillo de Calamares Super Rico, quintessential Madrid bites that pair beautifully with their selection of wines and refreshing beverages like Tinto de Verano and Tercio de Mahou.

The ambiance is one of El Ventorrillo’s strongest suits. With breathtaking views over the city skyline, it offers a welcoming space where visitors can enjoy a leisurely meal or drinks. The energy is casual, frequented mostly by locals, which lends an air of authenticity. Service tends to be efficient and friendly, adding to the ease of the experience, though it can vary depending on the shift.

In few words | Overpriced. Only bottled beer. Service good if you are lucky. Lots of birds and flies. Beautiful views. I only recommend this place if you with your tourists friends to have some beers. As a one time event is enjoyable :) Food is way too expensive for the quality you'll get. Waiters can be nice if you are lucky with who's serving you. Read a few other reviews and you'll understand (I was lucky when I went).

Stopped here on a wine. All locals, that’s a good sign! Only a few staff spoke broken English (which was still better than my Spanish, kudos to them). Food was good enough. Sept 2022: flat rate of 18 euros for a three course meal with bread, water, and table wine. They accommodated our vegetarians with simple pasta.

I think compared to other tapas places the prices were a bit higher, nothing special just a casual tapas place

You will love this restaurant for its view, you will have one of the best view in Madrid and you can have lunch or dinner there or only for drinking.

Lovely place to eat outside. The view is spectacular. The service was great too. I had the very overpriced “pulpo” and it was a bit too salty. Also: They only had mahou, not estrella galicia.
